Hedland Youth Art Prize
The Hedland Youth Art Prize was the very first dedicated art prize for youth aged 0 – 20 yrs living in Port Hedland. The prize received over 130 artwork submissions, 84 of which were selected and exhibited in the finalist show.
FINALISTS
The prizes were awarded to Monique Vrancic (1st prize, $3000), Sebastian Hille (2nd prize, $1500), Ty Kite (3rd Prize, $500), Zenthith Hille (Encouragement award, $100 gift voucher). In addition to the award winners, the Courthouse Gallery awarded four young artists an artist mentorship for their highly commended work.
The exhibition opened with the prize announcements and a day of free creative activities, where kids could participate in painting, felting, badge-making and play dough, as well as have their face painted. The event attracted over 150 visitors.
