Are you ready to fall in love with ceramics? 

This two day immersive creative studies workshop will introduce you to the skills and techniques of working with clay, and the smorgasbord of decorative techniques. The current market is telling us that ceramics are ‘so hot right now’ and there is increased demand for quality handmade ceramic serving-ware, jewellery, and sculpture. Maker Bootcamp Ceramics gives you an opportunity to expand your current arts practice, or give you the foundations to establish a new ceramics enterprise.

 

The schedule includes; 

1. Studio practice (looking after yourself and the studio) 
2. Understanding the materials and process 
3. Hand building techniques (including pinch, slab, coil, extrude, sculpture, carving) 
4. Basics of wheel throwing 
5. Using moulds and supports 
6. Surface treatments (decorating, glazing) 
7. Kiln stacking and firing  
8. Kiln and equipment care
