School Holiday Program: AWESOME ARTS
Awesome Arts is bringing TWO visiting artist from Perth to the Courthouse Gallery+Studio this school holidays! There will be two types of sessions to choose from. The first is a Drop-in style Creative Sessions for all ages; and the second is a Two Week Creative Challenge designed for those who’d love to try their hand in a combination of theatre and visual arts.

Drop-in Creative Sessions
Awesome Arts is bringing two visiting artists from Perth to the Courthouse Gallery for a School Holiday Program! Each day there will be a FREE afternoon activity facilitated by the artists in either Theatre or Visual Arts.

Suitable Ages
Morning Sessions: 4 – 7 years old
Afternoon Sessions: 8 – 12 years old

Tuesday, 5/10/21
9:30AM – 11:00AM: Treasure Hunt & Make activity
Search for hidden treasures around the gallery and then create a surprise ball to gift your found treasures.
12:30PM – 2:00PM: Surprise Ball Craft
Make a small treasure for someone you love and gift it in a surprise ball.
Wednesday, 6/10/21
9:30AM – 11:00AM: Puppet Making Story Telling Activity
Make a hand puppet and create a character to tell a story
12:30PM – 2:00PM: Upcycled Dream catchers
Make a dream catcher from recycled materials.
Thursday, 7/10/21
9:30AM – 11:00AM: Games and Free Play With Clay
Create something you love using clay.
12:30PM – 2:00PM: Bag and Keyring Making
Make a bag from fabric or a key-ring from clay
Friday, 8/10/21
11:00AM – 12:30PM: Paper Craft, Fruit Salad Bingo and Celebration
Last day of the Creative Challenge Come and celebrate with us, make something from paper and play a game of Fruit Salad Bingo

Two-week Creative Challenge
Do you want a creative project you can really get your teeth into? Sign up for the two week Creative Challenge to work each day with the visiting artists in a small group setting. You can expect to learn the skills and techniques of our visiting artists, learn about the processes of creating artworks in a collaborative way and celebrate your hard work and creations at the end.
Each Creative Challenge has a theme, this time the theme will be ‘Gathering’ and will be focusing on a mixture of Theatre and Visual Arts. The visiting artists work closely with the kids in the Creative Challenge to create original and unique creative work! This is a wonderful opportunity to really develop your Arts skills and creative thinking while working with professional artists.
