WORKSHOP - MONTHLY

COLOURS

Empowering Regional Communities through Social Inclusion

Join us every Friday between 10am and 12pm at the Courthouse Gallery+Studio to take part in a series of creative workshops for people who have a disability, that are designed to transform social inclusion and empower and uplift marginalised regional communities in Western Australia (WA).

Open to all ages, our facilitators will work with the attendees according to their abilities, encouraging self-expression and creativity through a variety of mediums.

This holistic program was developed in close collaboration with regional disability service providers and aims to enhance individual and collective capacity while fostering an exchange of skills and knowledge for those living with disabilities. By promoting creative expression, exploring employment opportunities, and showcasing the art and culture of disabled individuals, Colours seeks to contribute to social inclusion, wellbeing, and vibrancy in regional WA.

How Colours fit in with The Junction Co.’s programming

Colours is a specialised program designed to empower and uplift people with disabilities through creative expression and entrepreneurship. The weekly workshops encompass two key programs: Creative Enterprise and Artist Excellence.

Within the Creative Enterprise program, individuals with disabilities will have the extraordinary opportunity to develop their artistic skills while also exploring the world of entrepreneurship. By exploring both their creative and entrepreneurial abilities, participants can gain a sense of empowerment, self-confidence, and independence. The program culminates in the Twilight Market, providing a platform for these talented artists to showcase and sell their creations.

The Artist Excellence program is specially designed to elevate the artistic practices of individuals with disabilities to new heights. Through a series of workshops, masterclasses, and personalised mentoring sessions, participants have the opportunity to:

  • Explore various artistic techniques and experiment with different mediums.
  • Enhance their technical skills.
  • Foster innovation and creativity, pushing the boundaries of their artistic expression.
