A Flat Land
A flat land. In a country where one can go forever and not see a mountain, size is deceiving. The far distant horizon is huge, but it is seen as a mere thin line. Closer, the harbour may be deep and wide yet from where I stand, it’s just a stripe. Whereas at my feet, my view is full, but no-one can see me at all. Standing here for a time, the colours that surround me constantly change – from brown to green, from yellow to purple, from black to white, from white to black. From life to death, and back to life again.
