Tidal Teacher
Tidal Teacher is a response to living in the rapidly changing conditions of tidal areas. The artists experience of living in Broome and spending a month in Cossack, the Pilbara’s central coastal region. Tuning into this ancient rhythm causes a slowing down, asking us to pay close attention, allowing a deeper connection with the surrounding environment. A rising and falling, natures breath. The belly of the tides recreating the landscape over and over again. A metaphoric reminder, that change is the only constant. Harnessing the light and the softness of painting, capturing the fluidity of the subject through glass. A potent metaphor is drawn through its very materiality, Glass is fragile yet resilient, reflets yet dissolves boundaries with a transformative power.
