Growing up I always remember my dad telling me about red-back spiders and if i ever saw one to stay away from it and tell him straight away. Over my life I have never really encountered too many red-backs. I have now been living in Paraburdoo for just over a year now and I must say I have never seen so many red back in my entire life as I have since being here. My dad is on the other side of the country so it is up to me to sort them out myself. And by sort it out I mean tell my partner to sort them out. This photo is me being brave and getting up close and personal to this lovely lady having her dinner to support her babies. There is a great amount of respect and fear for this spider she is both beautiful and deadly. This work has also been about me pushing my own creative process with learning new skills.
