Papilja

“Papilja [is a] yinta (soak). In Kulyakartu, my Country. All the time kapi (water) there. Muuki, Nola (artist’s siblings), me all the time went there. All the time in pujiman (traditional, desert-dwelling) times. Good kapi for drinking and yukarri (green) all around. Lots of warta (trees). Plenty bush tucker- lungkurta (blue-tongue lizard) and yuwinyji (edible seed).” – Wokka Taylor Papilja soak is a semi-permanent water source. Martu camped at this location and ate yuwinji and pulunpa, both a kind of seed. Papilja is very close to Paru Bore.
