Wandjina Emerging

“The Wandjina began out at sea gathering clouds and carried them across to the land, finally coming out and leaving his impression on the cave walls. People can see this in the rock art in our Country today.
I have created this artwork with natural resin called ‘goorin’, a sap from the white gum tree. We boil it up with water to dissolve it and it is a dark red colour. It is also a bush medicine. The white ochres come from the beach.”
