“West. My initial concept was to paint the sunset from the same rock on Cemetery Beach at the same time of day over six consecutive days. That was until the third day when I realised that all of my sunset paintings looked the same. Abandoning this concept, I began looking at the sky. Whenever a cloud appeared in it I grabbed my board and paint and ran down to that same rock on Cemetery Beach to paint. The result is a painting that examines various times of day and weather conditions from the same outlook.”
