Lauren's grandfather was a fisherman off Shark Bay.
A dolphin would regularly come up to his boat each time he'd go out, after a while her grandfather fed the dolphin and named it Charlie.
The dolphin came everyday and followed them back to the jetty. More dolphins ended up doing this too. That was the start of Monkey Mia as we know it today
