It’s time to celebrate young artists with the Hedland Youth Art Prize 2020! The theme for this year’s prize is CURIOSITY and the talented young artists of Hedland have created the some incredibly unique work. 

The Junction Co. and Courthouse Gallery+Studio are excited to present six prize winners at the Hedland Youth Art Prize 2020, including the:  

Hedland Youth Art Prize ($3000) winner is Lorraine Gabaldon, for their work Flickering Out.  

Patron Prize, presented by Helen Komene, ($1500) winner is Chloe Isenbert, for their work Thick Trees.

Ignite Art Prize ($500) winner is Izabella Kingdom for their work Izzy’s Magic House.

At The Thought Fort, Ponda the alien comes from the planet Data, and travels the universe to research the brightest minds in the galaxy to gain knowledge for the universe’s Intergalactic Library. Help Ponda on her quest for knowledge by entering the Thought Fort, and answer the questions she has chosen especially for Hedland’s Earthling Children.

Hedland Youth Collaborative Painting | Free Activity, 9am – 12pm | All Ages
Get your paintbrush ready to add your artistic touch to the Hedland Youth Art Prize Open Day collaborative painting! This vibrant paint by number activity will feature the unique and iconic Pilbara sights – see how many on the day!

Sticky Fingers Playdough | Free Activity, 9am -2pm | All Ages
A fun activity for all, kids come along and create with the all-time favourite craft playdough. Let your imagination run wild and let your curiosity lead your creativity.

Face Painting | Free | All Ages
Pick your favourite comic character, superhero or cartoon and become them for the day!

Sausage Sizzle Time
After a busy day of creating, you’ll be able to fill up with a delicious sausage sizzle by the locally loved beef of the Pilbara Outback Beef.
