NAIDOC EXHIBITION

This year’s NAIDOC Exhibition, ‘The Next Generation‘, celebrates creativity as a powerful bridge between past, present, and future. Featuring works by emerging artists alongside Karratha’s youth, this exhibition reflects the strength and vision shaping the next wave of First Nations artists.

Through a collaborative community-based artwork, created through workshops led by artist and teacher Sheryl Hicks, at the Red Earth Arts Precinct during the July school holidays, young participants will have the opportunity to engage in creative expression, contributing their perspectives to a shared artistic project that reflects the spirit of the exhibition.

While the exhibition shines a light on the next generation, it remains deeply rooted in the wisdom, resilience, and traditions of those who came before. ‘The Next Generation’ is more than an exhibition – it’s an evolving story of artistic exchange, one that honours legacy while paving the way for fresh voices, new perspectives, and boundless creative possibilities.
