The The Junction Co. warmly invites you to the opening of Radius 7.0, an exhibition celebrating the creativity and talent of emerging artists from across the Pilbara and Kimberley regions. Presented at the Courthouse Gallery+Studio in Port Hedland, the exhibition showcases new work developed through the Radius mentorship program.
Featuring artists Bridget Headley, Craig Rowles, Maria Cecilia Sguera, and Weni Woda, Radius 7.0 highlights a diverse range of artistic practices and perspectives shaped by place, community, and personal experience. The exhibition celebrates the development of each artist’s creative voice while providing an important platform for regional artists to present their work to the public.
Throughout the exhibition, themes of place, identity, and personal narrative emerge through a range of artistic approaches. Working across painting, drawing, mixed media, and other contemporary practices, the artists explore their connections to community, environment, and lived experience. Some works respond to the distinctive landscapes of the Pilbara and Kimberley, while others reflect more intimate moments of reflection, memory, and observation. Together, these works create a dialogue between individual expression and shared regional experience.
Radius 7.0 reflects The Junction Co.’s ongoing commitment to supporting emerging artists and strengthening creative practice in the Pilbara. Developed through a structured mentorship and professional development program, the exhibition provides artists with the opportunity to refine their work, experiment with new ideas, and present their practice within a professional gallery setting at the Courthouse Gallery+Studio in Port Hedland.
Featuring artists Bridget Headley, Craig Rowles, Maria Cecilia Sguera, and Weni Woda, the exhibition highlights the diversity of voices emerging from the region. Each artist brings a distinct perspective shaped by their own experiences, creative interests, and relationship to place.
Collectively, Radius 7.0 celebrates the creativity, resilience, and cultural richness of regional artists while fostering meaningful connections between artists, audiences, and the broader community. By supporting artists at an important stage in their development, the exhibition contributes to a growing and vibrant creative landscape across the Pilbara.
Extending beyond the central exhibition, Radius 7.0.1 and Radius 7.0.2 highlight the broader impact of the Radius program through mentorship and continued artistic development.
Radius 7.0.1 acknowledges the important role of mentors within the program, including Ruth Leigh, who guided artists in Radius 6.0 and continues to support emerging practitioners while advancing her own work.
Radius 7.0.2 features artists Erin Nelson and RJB, who were mentored by Ruth in 2025. Their inclusion reflects the ongoing journey of artists beyond their initial participation, demonstrating how sustained guidance and professional support contribute to long-term creative growth. Together, these extended components highlight Radius as more than a single exhibition, positioning it as a continuous pathway for artistic development, connection, and opportunity across the Pilbara.
