The Junction Co.’s main office is located in Port Hedland, on beautiful Kariyarra Country, and we acknowledge the Kariyarra, Ngarla and Nyamal people as the Traditional Custodians of the Town of Port Hedland Lands. We recognise their strength and resilience and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.
Founded in 2018, The Junction Co. commenced as a creative enterprise collaboration specialising in place activation and learning experiences. Since its inception, the Junction has evolved into a well-established not-for-profit organisation with a clear vision to engage, grow and empower regional creatives.
The Courthouse Gallery+Studio, managed by The Junction Co. on behalf of the Town of Port Hedland since 2018, is located in the central Portside precinct. It features floor-to-ceiling exhibition space that showcases local and regional artists, both emerging and established. The Gallery includes dedicated makers’ studios such as a ceramics studio and an artist-in-residence studio, fostering creative enterprises. Additionally, The Store offers a retail platform for artwork and locally produced wares, providing diverse creations to the community.
Located near Port Hedland’s port operations, the precinct is a hub for retail, tourism, community, arts, and food businesses. For many visitors, it serves as the gateway to the town and wider region. The Junction Co. manages the place activations in collaboration with and on behalf of The Portside Town Team, and is working to create a positive identity, encourage longer visits, and build a sense of community in the West End area.
The Junction Co. manages the City of Karratha Arts Exhibition Program at the Red Earth Arts Precinct for 2025/2026, showcasing regional talent and fostering community connections. This partnership allows us to curate and manage exhibitions, host events, and offer professional development workshops for local artists
The Junction Co. proudly manages the Jury Art Prize, an esteemed state-wide art award event that celebrates and showcases outstanding artistic talent, acknowledged by industry professionals.
The Junction Co. team is made up of creative entrepreneurs, artists, strategists, graphic designers, place activators, facilitators, teachers and lovers of craft who seek to actively improve community membership and engagement, encourage a balance of work and play, improve liveability of local communities and assist in strengthening the Pilbara identity.
