TITLE: Forgiveness / all consuming burden
DESCRIPTION: Step 9 demands more than making amends; for me, the true transformation lies in the brutal, recurring work of forgiving others. I wage an internal war to forgive Kahlee Marfell and Mark Griffiths, oscillating between the grace of letting go and the poison of pure contempt for the woman who wouldn’t let him leave the relationship that ultimately killed him and the man who hid while my brother died. My painting of their house consumed by fire captures this wreckage, serving as a raw metaphor for the rage I must constantly burn through to reach a place of peace.
