TITLE: Integrity / gone but never forgotten
DESCRIPTION: Step 5 is about taking our inventory and finally speaking it out loud to a Higher Power and someone we trust to get those truths out of our own heads. This is vital because keeping our deepest traumas a secret gives them power over us, like the heavy shame I’ve carried since my brother Robert Nelson was murdered on July 8, 2018. By sharing the guilt I feel over our last mundane conversation (where I can’t even remember if I said I love him), I am finally choosing to let go of that weight and instead honor his memory through the painting I have created of him.
