DESCRIPTION: Step 11 invites us to deepen our connection with a Higher Power to find purpose and direction, a stillness I only found by finally returning home. After years of moving in constant fear (afraid that staying or connecting too deeply would only lead to more loss) I arrived feeling isolated and misunderstood. It was the quiet, steady presence of my family animals dog, Mullisha, and cats, Mr. Ninja, Little Grey, and Regan, that softened my guarded heart and guided my transition back into my community. This painting captures Mullisha and Regan watching over me in my childhood lounge, a scene of the simple, divine protection that helped me find my way again.
