The 2026 Karratha Youth Exhibition is calling all young artists to create your very own Freaky Little Friend. Every entry will be part of a colourful exhibition and a special animated video, bringing your creature to life in more ways than one.

Why Get Involved?
Creative Exploration
Paper-mache is a playful, hands-on medium that encourages experimentation, storytelling, and bold design. Whether you’re merging mythical beasts, inventing new species, or crafting surreal hybrids, your creature is a reflection of your imagination.
Community Connection
This exhibition is a celebration of Karratha’s youth and their creative voices. It’s a chance to connect, explore and contribute to a shared artistic landscape.
Skill Building
From sketching and sculpting to layering and painting, you’ll develop artistic techniques while expressing your unique perspective. Plus, your work will be professionally photographed and featured in a collaborative animation…how cool is that?
A Platform to Shine
Every submission will be part of a professionally curated exhibition, where your creature joins a wild and wonderful world of colourful creations. The audience will be invited to explore, imagine, and even craft their own adventures inspired by your work.
Submissions
To be eligible to enter the 2026 Karratha Youth Exhibition, you must:
- Reside in the Pilbara
- Be between the ages of 5– 18 years
- Ensure your submitted artwork was completed between July 2025 and January 2026
- Agree to the 2026 Karratha Youth Exhibition Conditions of Entry (on the entry form)
IMPORTANT DATES
- Submissions Closes: 11 January 2026
- Artwork must have been completed between: July 2025 – January 2026
- Artwork Due on Site: from 19/01/26 to 22/01/26 between 3am and 5pm (Red Earth Arts Precinct, 27 Welcome Rd, Karratha WA 6714)
- Free to Enter
- Must be be between the ages of 5-18yrs and residing within the Karratha areas to be eligible to participate
