The Junction Co. warmly invites you to join us in celebrating the grand opening of the exhibition Animate! at the Courthouse Gallery+Studio. This exceptional showcase is proudly presented by DADAA, an organization dedicated to fostering creativity and inclusivity. 

This exhibition is a culmination of artistic innovation and collaboration. In 2022, artist Neil Elliott embarked on a captivating journey alongside participants from the Wheatbelt’s Central Coast, as part of an enriching residency at DADAA Lancelin. This innovative collaboration began with an assortment of discarded metal and timber fragments: the likes of rusty pressed ceiling tin, intricate machine cogs, resilient wire netting, and an array of bolts and screws. Together, they engaged in the art of assemblage, meticulously crafting collaborative artworks that drew inspiration from the vibrant tapestry of life in Lancelin. 

The artists then breathed life into the artworks using animation and a digital app. You’re invited to witness these captivating animations yourself. By scanning the QR code in the exhibition, you can effortlessly download the app onto your smartphone. Alternatively, we have provided tablets for your convenience, ensuring that every guest can experience the marvel of Animate!. 

This project continues DADAA’s commitment to improving digital literacy and inclusion for people with disability and to introduce opportunities for self-expression and creativity through digital technology.
