The Dreamtime Spirits

“This is a dreamtime story and the Wandjina was here in the dream?me. We are his children so he provides bush tucker for us. The Wandjina exists in all the creatures in many forms. The Jillina (Bush woman) is in the centre of the pain?ng and she represents the spirit dreaming of the people who were the first humans. The ocean, river and flathead fish are the spirit fish. Down the bottom are the dingos who helped the people hunt for food. There are witchery grubs in pairs creating new life, water goannas who were a source of food and bush potato vines and yams. There are the footprints of the Uggula, the bad spirit who would come and steal the food at night to make sure he got his share.
