THE JURY ART PRIZE

The Junction Co. and Courthouse Gallery+Studio are excited to announce The Jury Art Prize finalists for 2020! From over 120 entries, 50 of the finest artworks by regional West Australian artists have been selected. The finalist artworks represent the exceptional creative talent that exists in remote and regional WA, and demonstrates the diversity in arts practice across the state including a wide range of indigenous and non-indigenous work.

There are four prize categories, The Judges Prize ($10,000), Kathy Donnelly Award ($3,000), and the Patron Award ($3,000 scholarship for a Hedland artist) which will be selected by a panel of judges including Erin Coates, Glenn Iseger-Pilkington, and Anna Louise Richardson. The fourth prize category, the online people’s choice Jury Prize ($10,000), is selected by you, the Jury, and will be announced at the close of the exhibition.

“This award exhibition provides a snapshot of the huge diversity of creative practices across our state. At this point in time, it also reveals elements of the current contexts in which artists are creating work, with resilience, curiosity and imagination. It is both an honour and a pleasure to be invited as a judge this year.”

– Erin Coates, guest judge.
